Inspiring Quality Youth Development
JSTAR Enterprise, in association with RAFFA, are pleased to announce the opening of the first JSTAR Youth & Community Centre, based at Open Door Ministries. It will be run independently by representatives from JSTAR Enterprise, under the banner of the award winning programme 'Passing the Baton 2012: Inspiring Peaceful, Caring & Enterprising Neighbourhoods'.
The primary aim of JSTAR Youth & Community Centre is to provide mentoring, information, support and advice for young people, both within the church and local communities.
JSTAR will empower young people to be creative and express their talents and abilities by:
- Involving young people in the design, development and delivery of community empowerment projects.
- Improving young people’s skills and enhancing employment and enterprise opportunities.
- Developing partnerships between education institutions and health & wellbeing organizations.
Angela Clarke, Assistant Programme Director, RAFFA, said:
"We encourage parents, guardians and young people to take advantage of the support that is now available through JSTAR. This Youth & Community Centre establishes a link between the church and community services available for young people."
Rudi Page, CEO, stated:
"We welcome the arrival of JSTAR Youth & Community Centre and aim to replicate this model for Quality Youth Development across the regions."
