"Brent Civic Centre - A new venue in London"

Call out for Civic Centre Arts and Culture Programme
We are looking for individuals, arts organisations and community groups who are interested in providing content for the new Brent civic centre.

The civic centre, located next to Wembley Arena and Stadium is due to open Summer 2013.

A large multi-functional building, it will incorporate the functions of a town hall, provide offices for council staff, a state of the art library, cafes/restaurants, customer service centre, Registrar services and various halls and rooms that will be available to hire.

A programme is being developed of high quality arts and culture that will animate the civic centre and make it a welcoming place to visit.

Activities could include art exhibitions, heritage displays, dance, music, drama performances, screenings, hands-on arts and craft workshops and community projects.

There will be plenty to do for people of all ages and interests. The aim of the programme is to deliver a range of activity that is relevant, innovative, educational and entertaining by developing cultural opportunities that are engaging and enriching for all local communities.
Programme elements
We are looking for proposals for two elements of the civic centre programme:
On-going Programme
Due to start when the building opens June 2013 this is the main programme which will run indefinitely. We are looking for proposals for the first six months of the programme, June to December 2013.

Civic Centre Opening Celebration Weekend
To mark the opening of this fantastic new building we are planning a Celebration Weekend on Saturday 5 and Sunday 6 October 2013 (depending on funding the event may take place over both days or just one).

The theme of this event is 'The Drum', the name of the public part of the building. We want innovative and exciting proposals that have a twist.
How to apply
If you are interested in submitting a proposal please read the following documents carefully:
You will then need to complete an expression of interest form. There are two separate forms, one for the on-going programme and one for the opening celebration weekend.

Applicants are welcome to submit proposals for both.
Timeframe
The deadline for expressions of interest is 12 noon on Monday 21 January 2013.

We aim to respond to all applications by the end of February 2013.
