"We at Scruffbag Productions would like to say a huge shout out to all the Stonebridge Ward Working team and Brent Council for enabling the Stonebridge summer workshops to take place.

"There are a few key members that have shown huge support to us, and we would like to take the opportunity to thank them here:

"Cllr Zaffar van Vankalwala - we first met Zaffar whilst filming our short film 'The Boxer' at the Stonebridge Boxing Club earlier in the year. He spoke in great depth and had such passion for Stonebridge that he motivated us to research the area and see how we could offer our skills and knowledge of the film industry to engage young people from his constituency.

"Carol Allen - whilst researching the area, prior to the workshops, we kept hearing Carol's name as a woman to talk to. When we finally met her she had such enthusiasm and passion for our proposed work with young people that it was an inspiration to put the ward working application forward. She has been a huge help and support in getting the ward working backing.

"Emma Tutton - Emma has been a huge founding support for the work Scruffbag Productions do with young people in Brent. Last year the Arts team and West London Partnership commissioned us to run Project 7 a script writing competition for 14-25yrs in Brent. The winning film 'The Boxer' premiered at the lexi Cinema, was screened at the Brent Torch relay event, has been entered into the international film festival circuit and will be [was] screened at the Tricycle cinema as a feature short on the main programme in September. The runner up 'Memory Lane' was Brent's entry into the Film Nation competition. It had over 1,400 views online and was nominated for an award at the BFI.

"Through the support of these key people and others we haven't had the pleasure to meet yet, including Cllr Ann John & Cllr Colum Moloney, we have been able to reach over 100 young people from the area - 25 of which attended the workshops and all of whom will be invited to take part in the filming of the feature film next year."
