Clockgate: The aftermath

Link to Brent & Kilburn Times

"Opinion is divided over plans to move Harlesden’s most famous landmark, the Jubilee clock, as part of a regeneration project.

"Members of Rucklidge Avenue Residents’ Association claim it will look out of place.

"But the move is being backed by the Harlesden Town Team (HTT), whose chairman, Leeory Simpson, said: “We are all for it. It will make the street more accessible and create more pavement space. The clock will be given more prominence because it will now be on the front of a walkway to a new pedestrian area.”

"Cllr Muhammed Butt, leader of Brent Council, said it was important the council went ahead with the plans."
