"On Sunday 14 June we are once again holding The Mayhew Animal Home annual summer Open Day, in order to raise funds for the homeless cats and dogs at our rescue and rehoming centre.

"For one day only, our charity is able to close off the road outside the centre and host an array of stalls and activities. Visitors on the day will be able to enjoy browsing the array of items for sale, taking part in games and activities and meeting some of the residents looking for new homes.

"We have a Very Important Dog making an appearance. Jake is a former Mayhew dog and is now a specially trained explosives search dog. He will be giving a demonstration of his skills on the day."
