  1. This interchange would transform the entire area.

Imagine being at Old Oak Common and then traveling to the west end in 7 mins, Heathrow in 11 minutes, Canary Wharf in 21 mins and Birmingham in 30 mins.

The easier it can be made to get from Harlesden to Old Oak Common the better...

  2. Well, it would help to get rid of the car-based £4.5-billion "Brent Cross Cricklewood scheme" first - a redesign could help to finance an orbital light railway there.

  3. A new report from Estates Gazette suggests the Old Oak lobby may be succeeding in getting the new station proposal into Crossrail. Presumably this is before HS2 is built...

"Jackie Sadek, head of regeneration at CB Richard Ellis, said: “There does seem to be substantial speculation out there from some very serious sources that the campaign to get Crossrail into Old Oak may indeed have proved to be successful.

“If this is true, it will be a triumph of common sense and forward thinking on the part of the coalition government. It would have been a massive shame to not realise the potential uplift in transport connectivity in the north west of London by connecting Crossrail at Willesden Junction, with its access to the west coast lines and the North London orbital and Bakerloo lines.

“It would be a major investment: the regeneration benefits would be enormous and would provide spectacular leverage for the transport spend. This link would have a major role in underpinning and expanding the manufacturing capability at Park Royal and facilitating the regeneration of Harlesden town centre".
